Washington D.C.

Breyten and I were able to spend a few days in D.C. this week with a friend and her daughter. I was able to explore D.C. while my friend worked, and let me tell you, I am exhausted! D.C. with 2 babies is hard work! But, it was rewarding with all the things we got to see and do. Here are some pictures:

Silly Willy

My Silly Willy is 8 months now :) Last month of his little life (at least for the first year) that his daddy will have to miss...

Engagement :)

Congratulations to Taaron and Tiffany on their engagement tonight! So excited to welcome Tiffany into the family of the Longs :) She will be a GREAT addition and Taaron is a very blessed guy (which I think he knows). 

Pre-Pregnancy Weight

That's right! As of today, I am officially at my pre-pregnancy weight!! I have lost a total of 56 pounds since the birth of my son (8-11-10). However, due to trips and things, I probably only really dieted and exercised about 4 months. Only 13 pounds to go for my goal weight!

A Quick Update

Breyten will be 8 months in less than a week... He has started pulling himself up by grabbing onto things... Also, he is in the early stages of crawling, but mostly he just rolls to where he wants to go.


My first class for my master's degree is going well, although it is boring. But, I should enjoy it cause the classes are just going to get harder and more intense...


I received a gift in the mail today- a 70 minute massage PLUS babysitting :) It was a wonderful gift! 

Bedtime Update

Breyten is doing really well. He has slept in his crib for almost an entire week (he's never done that in his whole life!) He still wakes up in the middle of the night (like at 4 am, just talking to himself). But, each time he has been able to go back to sleep on his own. Yay for me :)

PS, we have gone 7 months without daddy and it's taking a toll on us... we are ready for him to come home!

Night 2....

So, I waited until after my Memphis trip to start training Breyten to sleep without me. The first night, he screamed for about 30 minutes before going to sleep (because he wanted me). Then, he finally fell asleep and woke up about 3 times during the night (all of which he fell asleep by himself within 10 minutes). Last night, he did sleep all night (actually he's still sleeping which would never happen if he slept with me cause my alarm always woke him up). However, he screamed for about 1 and 1/2 hours before going to sleep. I went into his room every 15 minutes or so. I didn't pick him up, I just talked to him and patted him (at which time he would grab my hands with such strength so that I wouldn't leave him again...) It was very sad and difficult. I want to be able to hold him and rock him... but daddy is coming home in the next 2 months and he can't sleep with us (there is no room!)
