One Year Old Pics

For our anniversary, Trenten bought be a Canon Rebel T3i. I have really enjoyed taking pictures with it, and I plan to take all of our family pictures with it. I'm just a beginner, but I have really liked playing with all the different ways you can mess with the picture settings on the computer. My Proud Mommy Disney Moment

As some of you know, the last time Breyten had a doctor's appointment, he was a little behind in his vocabulary (by one word). Well, last week while we were at disney, we were riding the People Movers in the Magic Kingdom. It's a ride that looks down at other rides and one of those rides was the race car track. Breyten clearly pointed down at the race car track and said "car". I was so excited!!!! Just to be sure, though, I asked him again what he said. He pointed to the cars AGAIN and said "car". But, just to be super sure, we asked him again, and he said it AGAIN. "Car" is officially Breyten's 3rd word. YAY!

Profinity

I've been meaning to tell people about a new site called profinity.com. It's a "savings" website. Basically, you pay $15 a month a get some of these great things: $25 rebate to any restaurant of your choice (the reason why I started doing this in the first place, takes about 4 weeks for you to get the rebate, but all you have to do is spend at least $25 at any restaurant, scan the receipt to your profile and ask for the rebate), 25 grocery coupons every week (you can choose from hundreds), 1 free companion plane ticket quarterly, discounts on hundreds of online stores, hotels... 


Anyway, this is my 2nd month and I've been really pleased with it. If you decide to try it, please identify me as the one who told you so that I can get another $25 restaurant rebate :)

Excitement in Life

Lately, there seems to be very few things in life that get me excited. I feel as if I do the same mundane things over and over again... I guess you can say that I am in some sort of a stay-at-home mommy rut. Don't get me wrong, I love being able to stay at home and care for my son, but it just is getting old lately... 


But....




On Friday I will be leaving for Orlando, Fl!!! Somewhere I have never been before and I am truly excited to go!! We should get there on Saturday. On Sunday, we plan on going to Sea World and meeting up with Katie and Aaron (YAY!) that evening for dinner. And then, Monday thru Thursday will be hanging out with Mickey and his friends :) What a gift to be able to go to such a great vacation!!

Breyten's First Birthday :)

I can't believe it has already come and gone! But, August 11, 2011 was my little boy's first birthday! He thoroughly enjoyed it! We started out at breakfast at McDonald's (in Ohio for Trenten's Brother's wedding) where he got to play on the playplace and eat pancakes. Then, we went to Grandma's house to open gifts. Then, we went to Cici's and had a pizza lunch; also, he had his 1 year old cup cake there and loved it! Finally, we ended the day in Cleveland at Progressive Field to watch an Indian's game. It was a fun-filled day!

Reflection on Marriage

As Trenten and my 5th anniversary is approaching in two days, I can't help but think about all that we have accomplished in just 5 years. I was 19 when we got married (although 1 week from turning 20), about to start nursing school (junior in college), and not really sure what being a Godly wife was all about. Trenten had just graduated from college with his Bachelor's of Arts in Secondary Education for English, and he was just about to start seminary for his Master's of Divinity. We had no full time jobs since we were both students. I, to this day, I have no idea how we paid for some bills. God always provided for us! We lived in seminary housing, and one day, we came home to a bag of groceries at our front door! We received many gifts of money during that time. We ended up graduating (both of us) debt free, not sure how that occurred except by God's grace. We have gone through the death of a parent, cancer of a parent, death of an unborn baby, and much more. We have been blessed beyond measure by God, and I am truly thankful. I would say that this year we are both most thankful for having Breyten in our lives. He is truly an answer to prayer and we love him so much! I am truly thankful for marrying a man who is Godly, a great provider, awesome dad, and loving husband. I am very blessed!

I can't believe it's already August

Wow, this year has flown by. I can't help but get emotional when I think about all that we have gone through this past year. The major issue being away from Trenten for 8.5 to 9 months. I can't believe that my little baby boy this time last year was being stubborn and not being born (I had to be induced...) And now he is a vibrant, curious, wonderful toddler. Lots of things happening in August: our 5 year anniversary is on Friday; Breyten turns 1 on August 11th; I turn 25 on August 12th; Trenten's brother is getting married on August 13th. It's going to be a fun and busy (and emotional) month for me!
